My latest masterpiece: Starscourge Greatsword from Elden Ring
The first part of the process was 3d printing the parts, testing connection and sanding out any imperfections. I used this paid model from cults.com (Link) and printed at 80% scale so that it wasn’t too large. The print came out more realistic human sized but if you want that EPIC size go 100% scale.
Next we glue it all together and give the 3d printed parts some more sanding as needed. Then some bondo glaze to fill the gaps and sanded smooth. Lastly I added a couple of coats of filler primer and sanding to work out any more imperfections and give it a nice clean finish.
Then its off to paint. Several black satin base coats with some Vallejo gold metallic paint in various shades of gold to add some wear. After some work you cant even tell it was 3d printed.
Final 3d printed Starscourge Greatsword fully pained and a couple of layers of satin clear coat to help protect the finish. Designed and 3d printed a little stand for the shelf. Really fun project.
Below is a list of some of the non 3d printed materials I used for this project
