This week I’ve decided to lean into the mass media blitz for the new Borderlands 4 video game and 3d printed the Ripper mask they just released on Printables. Link to model HERE
So first I used blender to cut the model in half to make it easier for 3d printing on my Kobra 3v2. Then glued, puttied and sanded as needed to get rid of layer lines for a smooth finish and to hide the split. Ended with a couple of different grits of wet sanding to get a nice smooth finish.

Next I hit it with some gloss black paint canned spray paint. Tapped up the parts I wanted to stay black and then hit it with some glossy white spray paint. Finished that up with some Vallejo metallic silver and chain-mail paints for the metal highlights.

The last stage was to tape off the curved red line and cover anything else small, like the breathers and damage marks, with some masking paint to help keep it neat on the harder to tape parts. Finally, finishing it off with a black and brown acrylic wash all over to give it a gritty, dirty look and then a couple of clear coat to seal it all in.
After its all completed it comes out pretty nice. Ill probably wear it on Halloween while we are passing out candy. My try one of the weapons next but well cross that bridge when we get there. Happy 3D Printing!!

Here is a list of all the items I used on this project. The paints, filament etc. Full disclosure these links are from my amazon associates account so if you buy an item thru them I may accidentally make a couple of cents. Just FYI.
