EvilDaves Revopoint Inspire Project
So I just got this great Revopoint Inspire scanner and absolutely love what it can do. I originally purchased it so I could easily reverse engineer parts for clients and to fix stuff around the house but eventually found some other fun ways to use.
First I started with my wife’s vintage knick knacks which came out great.
Fun… what can I scan now??
So as I was looking for my next scan project I remembered a story from a friend whose grandfather loved woodcarvings and one of his most prized was of an eagle carved from a single piece of wood. Several years ago he passed away and the kids fought over who would get to keep it. After a couple of weeks back and forth she was lucky enough to be the winner but always felt a little bad that others were upset.
The Bird In Question…
Eureka…
So I called her up and told her I my idea was scan it into a 3d model and then she could have several printed to give as gifts for the holidays. She totally loved the idea and rushed it right over. Within a couple of hours I had it scanned and a small scale sample model printed. I was amazed at how much detail it captured and was amazingly easy once you got the hang of it. I don’t know how I ever lived without this thing. Now my friend is ecstatic and cant wait to see their faces this year at Christmas.
